| 1. | In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. | В начале сотворил Бог небо и землю. |
| 2. | Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. | Земля же была безвидна и пуста, и тьма над бездною, и Дух Божий носился над водою. |
| 3. | And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. | И сказал Бог: да будет свет. И стал свет. |
| 4. | God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. | И увидел Бог свет, что он хорош, и отделил Бог свет от тьмы. |
| 5. | God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. | И назвал Бог свет днем, а тьму ночью. И был вечер, и было утро: день один. |
| 6. | And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” | И сказал Бог: да будет твердь посреди воды, и да отделяет она воду от воды. |
| 7. | So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. | И создал Бог твердь, и отделил воду, которая под твердью, от воды, которая над твердью. И стало так. |
| 8. | God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day. | И назвал Бог твердь небом. И был вечер, и было утро: день второй. |
| 9. | And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. | И сказал Бог: да соберется вода, которая под небом, в одно место, и да явится суша. И стало так. |
| 10. | God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good. | И назвал Бог сушу землею, а собрание вод назвал морями. И увидел Бог, что [это] хорошо. |
| 11. | Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. | И сказал Бог: да произрастит земля зелень, траву, сеющую семя дерево плодовитое, приносящее по роду своему плод, в котором семя его на земле. И стало так. |
| 12. | The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. | И произвела земля зелень, траву, сеющую семя по роду ее, и дерево, приносящее плод, в котором семя его по роду его. И увидел Бог, что [это] хорошо. |
| 13. | And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day. | И был вечер, и было утро: день третий. |
| 14. | And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, | И сказал Бог: да будут светила на тверди небесной для отделения дня от ночи, и для знамений, и времен, и дней, и годов; |
| 15. | and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. | и да будут они светильниками на тверди небесной, чтобы светить на землю. И стало так. |
| 16. | God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. | И создал Бог два светила великие: светило большее, для управления днем, и светило меньшее, для управления ночью, и звезды; |
| 17. | God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, | и поставил их Бог на тверди небесной, чтобы светить на землю, |
| 18. | to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. | и управлять днем и ночью, и отделять свет от тьмы. И увидел Бог, что [это] хорошо. |
| 19. | And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day. | И был вечер, и было утро: день четвертый. |
| 20. | And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” | И сказал Бог: да произведет вода пресмыкающихся, душу живую; и птицы да полетят над землею, по тверди небесной. |
| 21. | So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. | И сотворил Бог рыб больших и всякую душу животных пресмыкающихся, которых произвела вода, по роду их, и всякую птицу пернатую по роду ее. И увидел Бог, что [это] хорошо. |
| 22. | God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” | И благословил их Бог, говоря: плодитесь и размножайтесь, и наполняйте воды в морях, и птицы да размножаются на земле. |
| 23. | And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day. | И был вечер, и было утро: день пятый. |
| 24. | And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. | И сказал Бог: да произведет земля душу живую по роду ее, скотов, и гадов, и зверей земных по роду их. И стало так. |
| 25. | God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. | И создал Бог зверей земных по роду их, и скот по роду его, и всех гадов земных по роду их. И увидел Бог, что [это] хорошо. |
| 26. | Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” | И сказал Бог: сотворим человека по образу Нашему по подобию Нашему, и да владычествуют они над рыбами морскими, и над птицами небесными, и над скотом, и над всею землею, и над всеми гадами, пресмыкающимися по земле. |
| 27. | So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. | И сотворил Бог человека по образу Своему, по образу Божию сотворил его; мужчину и женщину сотворил их. |
| 28. | God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” | И благословил их Бог, и сказал им Бог: плодитесь и размножайтесь, и наполняйте землю, и обладайте ею, и владычествуйте над рыбами морскими и над птицами небесными, и над всяким животным, пресмыкающимся по земле. |
| 29. | Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. | И сказал Бог: вот, Я дал вам всякую траву, сеющую семя, какая есть на всей земле, и всякое дерево, у которого плод древесный, сеющий семя; - вам [сие] будет в пищу; |
| 30. | And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so. | а всем зверям земным, и всем птицам небесным, и всякому пресмыкающемуся по земле, в котором душа живая, [дал] Я всю зелень травную в пищу. И стало так. |
| 31. | God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day. | И увидел Бог все, что Он создал, и вот, хорошо весьма. И был вечер, и было утро: день шестой. |
